Caster Technology and the Science of Swivel Offset

Caster Technology and the Science of Swivel Offset

When looking at the ergonomic performance of a caster, there are typically two main areas that cause the most impact: push/pull forces and swivelling force. To have an ergonomically sound caster, swivelling forces need to be reduced so the user can move the material handling cart more easily. With ease of movement of the cart, risk of injury to the user is reduced. By reducing swivelling force, the ergonomic capability of the caster increases. By increasing the offset, less force is required to swivel the caster out.
