Darcor
Limited Achieves ISO 9001:2000 Certification
Toronto,
ON, July 25, 2002 - Darcor Limited, leader in the design
and manufacture of high-quality, high-performance, ergonomically
designed casters and wheels has been awarded the ISO 9001:2000
Certificate of Approval from BSI Management Systems.
Darcor
Limited is one of the first caster manufacturer in North
America to achieve ISO 9001 certification under version
2000 of the standard. The company will now be able to
operate a total quality management system that meets
all the design and manufacturing requirements of casters
and wheels for a selected range of medical, material
handling and industrial applications.
"ISO
9001:2000 registration will allow Darcor to achieve
the next level of quality, not only in our products
but in our service as well, with a greater emphasis
on customer satisfaction," says Robert E. Hilborn, Darcor's
president. "We are confident that it will enhance
our status as the industry's technology leader and emphasize
our reputation as the pre-eminent relationship-based
supplier."
In
addition, registration is expected to bring the following
benefits to Darcor and, more importantly, to its customers:
· Greater efficiency and flexibility · Products and
services that consistently meet customer requirements
· Improved innovative developments and market share
· Improved communications in the organization and the
supply chain · Reduced costs and better service levels
· Increased confidence in the production system
"We
are one of very few manufacturers to achieve this level
of certification and one of the first in our industry
to do so," Hilborn says. "This in turn will
allow us to provide higher quality products above the
competition."
The
ISO 9001:2000 standard encompasses Darcor's entire operation,
reflecting improved processes, increased customer focus,
consistent manufacturing, and delivery of top-quality
products and services to customers. Darcor's casters
and wheels are found in virtually all major North American
hospitals, key manufacturing industries, and at leading
OEMs and parts replacement organizations in the material
handling industry.
Award
of ISO 9001:2000 certification is an important progression
for Darcor, already an ISO 9001-registered company.
"Attaining the ISO 9001:2000 level will assist
us in maintaining our preferred supplier status through
the continued and consistent delivery of a superior-quality
product to our clients," Hilborn says.
